Gratefully Indebted Collective

Gratefully Indebted Collective is a group focused on uplifting Black art and creatives. Started in the Summer of 2024, the founders Ashley Lukwago and Maia Hollien had a goal of creating positive change within the arts community by helping to close the gaps in resources and opportunities for marginalized up and comers.

Ashley also known as Ash is a multidisciplinary artist who loves sewing, photography, writing and fashion.

Maia is VCUArts Kinetic Imaging graduate and the creative behind, Howdy Hoochie, a local brand focused in empowerment through artwork and second-hand fashion.
