The Start of Something New

My name is Sam Taylor, and I'm the founder and Director of Ours—a co-working space and community center located in the Fan.

After years of dreaming and countless conversations with friends about creating a sober third space in Richmond, Ours has finally become a reality.

Nestled in a two-story building near the corner of Strawberry and West Main Street, Ours is here to foster creativity, connection, and community.

In 2024, myself with the support of the Richmond community, transformed the 2,424-square-foot space at 2309 West Main Street into something truly special—a shared studio, event space, classroom, and gathering place for Richmond locals to make their own.

When you step inside, and you’ll discover cozy corners perfect for co-working, moments of playful interaction, and opportunities for engaging conversations. It’s a space where you can pause for offline serenity, share a meal, and connect with kindred spirits.

Reciprocity lies at the heart of Ours.

Here, the seeds you sow are the fruits you harvest. By working, creating, and playing alongside one another, we can collectively shape a life and community we all cherish. Ours is more than just a space—it’s a place to earn a livelihood, enjoy living, and shine light on one another.

As a sober space, Ours invites us to meet each other as we are, without pretense, and to forge meaningful connections rooted in authenticity. I hope it becomes a refuge for the community—a place for meaningful conversations, shared experiences, parallel play, and mutual learning.
